Following her Golden Globes appearance, Selena Gomez was ready to ignore the critics. The musician has been the target of online criticism and body shaming due to her apparent weight gain. She is currently starring enjoying on Hulu’s ‘Only Murders In The Building.’
The singer and actress addressed the situation on social media and blasted people who had been criticising her appearance.
Gomez basked in the spotlight while posing on the Golden Globes’ grey carpet. She uploaded images from her night out on social media in posts. Her comments were many, with some focusing on her appearance and others on her body.
“I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays,” Selena said in an Instagram Live with her little sister, after the award show this week.
she added: “But we don’t care,” as they burst into laughter.
A black velvet Valentino Haute Couture gown with voluminous purple sleeves and a plunging off-the-shoulder neckline was worn by the former Disney Channel star to the 2023 Golden Globes red carpet.
She added diamond drop earrings from De Beers to the thigh-high split gown as an accessory and pulled her hair back into a high ponytail.
Gomez has already called out trolls for making remarks about her appearance in the past.
She shut down body shamers on TikTok back in April 2022, claiming that being “skinny” wasn’t worth forgoing her favourite foods because “people b*tch about [her weight] anyway.”
“B*tch, I am perfect the way I am,” Selena remarked.
