Stranger Things Star, Noah Schnapp and Doja Cat are sort of feuding on social media, and it has turned twitter upside down. And we’re pretty sure that’s not a sentence you ever expected to read.
What is the dispute about, you ask? Eddie Munson, everyone’s favourite tragic hero from Stranger Things, portrayed by Joseph Quinn. Doja had a small crush on Joseph, so she asked Noah to introduce her to his Stranger Things co-star via direct message (DM) writing, “Noah can you tell Joseph to hmu [hit me up]?” and “Wait no. Does he have a girlfriend?” And Schnapp, who laughed it off and told her to message Quinn directly, shared the exchange with his 26 million followers on TikTok. Once Noah’s hilarious TikTok video of Doja’s DMs became popular, Doja took to the platform to criticise Noah for making the DMs public.

Doja cat started a Livestream on tiktok and addressed the situation. She says: “I think that… to be fair, let’s try to be chill about it. To be fair this is like a kid. Like Noah is like I don’t know how old he is but there’s no way he’s over like 21 (Noah is 17). And he might be, and I could be wrong. But like, when you’re that young you make mistakes, you do dumb s—t. I’m just trying to be super fair. You do dumb s—t, you say dumb s—t, you f—king f—k up relationships with people, you make mistakes. You’re supposed to so that you know not to do it in the future. I did my fair share of f—k ups, so that I don’t f—k up again.”

In her words: “You know what I mean? That’s like borderline snake s—. That’s like weasel s—,” she said, adding that it felt like “a weird power play” and that she already talked to him about it. Fans are most upset about this.

Following this feud the internet was quick to take sides. A Twitter user wrote: “it’s so funny how y’all try to villainize and attack black women for being reasonably upset and uncomfortable and try to paint them aggressive. noah schnapp had no right sharing doja cat’s dms without permission for a TikTok without consulting her”
