Justin Bieber reveals a rare disorder that paralysed half of his face, cancels shows

After a virus caused “full paralysis” on one side of his face, Justin Bieber has cancelled a number of shows on his current tour.

The Canadian popstar was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a virus destroyed the nerves in his ear. In a video shared to his Instagram page, he stated he was dealing with a “very serious” situation.
The 28-year-old is presently on his Justice tour in North America, but shows in Toronto, Washington, DC, and New York have been cancelled.

Ramsay Hunt Syndrome is a complication of shingles that occurs when an outbreak impacts the facial nerve near one ear. In addition to facial paralysis, it can cause hearing loss.

He tries to smile, blink, and move his face in the three-minute video, but parts of his face do not respond. To recover, he stated he has been doing facial workouts.

He says:

“So for those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically, obviously not able of doing them,” “This is pretty serious as you can see.”

“I wish this wasn’t the case but obviously my body is telling me I gotta slow down.

“I hope you guys understand, and I’ll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to 100% so I can do what I was born to do. But in the meantime, this ain’t it.

“We don’t know how much time it is going to be but it’s going to be OK, I have hope and I trust God. I trust it is all for a reason. I’m not sure what that is right now but in the meantime I am going to rest.”

Hailey Baldwin, Justin Bieber’s loving wife, shared her husband’s video post on her Instagram Stories, simply adding, “I love u baby,” with a pleading emoji. Baldwin recently suffered from a transient ischemic attack and had surgery to remove the heart abnormality.
